Africa Haiku on the Journey (sort of)..

Wandering the Vast

Do not be scared to wander in the vast

Field of trauma

And tred upon its ragged ground

That will tear and bless your

Feet, all at the same time.

When  you dare to

Wander wildly

You will stumble upon

Yourself.

Note to Self: The land gave me this sort of Haiku (sort of because it is longer

than a Haiku, but still the way the Earth gave it to me). She gave it to me on a day I felt overwhelmed

by the trauma of going into the Cape Coast Slave dungeons. I had been down

there at least ten times (there was to be another fifteen before I left), and

I was wracked with grief. Yet, each time I went down there I felt a deep shift

happen within me, in my bones, my cells, my story.
